SFR: What was the inspiration behind OneRail and was there any influence from your previous companies that influenced your vision..??

BC: The inspiration for OneRail came from a poor customer experience at a major retailer. I was trying to buy a refrigerator, but despite having paid for it, they told me it would take 10 days to get it. This highlighted the inefficiencies in traditional logistics and sparked the idea of a tech-connected delivery solution.

SFR: How did OneRail evolve from its initial concept..??

BC: Initially, OneRail was a tech-connected courier service. However, we realized the need for a more comprehensive solution to address persistent issues in last-mile delivery. Drawing from my experience with my previous company, M-dot, we pivoted to create an integrated platform that aggregates supply, connects it to demand through a rules-driven operating system, and provides real-time delivery solutions for various industries.

SFR: What differentiates OneRail from other last-mile delivery solutions..??

BC: OneRail leverages real-time visibility and data-driven optimization methods. Unlike traditional solutions, we offer a hybrid model that integrates multiple delivery modes and provides a sophisticated operating system. This approach allows us to manage all types of deliveries, including parcel, courier, and less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, under a single platform. Customers benefit from seamless experience and optimized delivery routes for cost and efficiency.

SFR: Can you highlight some of the key partnerships and acquisitions that have significantly impacted your organization..??

BC: A notable acquisition is OrderBot, which specializes in order management systems (OMS) and inventory management. This acquisition has enabled us to dynamically optimize inventory and delivery decisions, ensuring that the right inventory is in the right place at the right time. This capability significantly enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of last-mile delivery.

SFR: What are some of the strategies that have been most effective in, OneRail achieving your goal to enhance customer service..??

BC: Our strategy is customer-centric. We provide flexible shipping solutions tailored to meet specific needs. For instance, retailers like Lowe’s and American Tire Distributors use our platform to offer expedited delivery options, including 30-minute deliveries. This flexibility enhances the customer experience and helps reduce cart abandonment rates.

SFR: The last mile cost is believed to be about 52%.. How has OneRail helped customers reduce last-mile delivery costs..??

BC: By structuring and normalizing data, automating processes, and optimizing delivery routes, we help clients achieve considerable savings. Structured data allows for better decision-making and automation, reducing operational expenses by up to 70%. Our rate shopping capabilities enable customers to find cost-effective delivery options, resulting in transportation cost savings of 10-15%.

SFR: How does OneRail ensure data privacy and security as that is top of mind for customers..??

BC: We take data privacy and security very seriously. We have invested heavily in compliance and security measures, including SOC 2, GDPR, ISO, and HIPAA certifications. These measures ensure that customer data is protected and managed responsibly, building trust and confidence among our clients.

SFR: What is your vision for the future of OneRail..??

BC: Looking ahead, we aim to enhance our capabilities, including developing a micro-fulfillment network and improving middle-mile delivery options. Global expansion is also on the horizon, with plans to extend our reach into Latin America, Europe, and Asia. We are positioning OneRail to become a global leader in last-mile delivery solutions.
